This is my ukulele rendition of “Put Your Lights On” by Everlast and Santana. I didn’t do any of the Santana parts, but I would like to find a way to work some of the Santana likeness into this song. It is cool that the two of them came together for a song because I’m a fan of both of them. A lot of Everlast’s work just hits for me when I listen, and I like that sort Spanish Blues flare Santana has on guitar. It’s kind of like, given a blind taste test for guitar licks, Santana has that flavor that you could pick out of a lineup. One last thing that I like about this song, is it reminds me a little bit of “You Got Me” by The Roots ft. Erykah Baduj. Even though the progressions are different, they have a similar vibe with hammer-ons and pull-offs.
